Help Sessions are certain times during the week when the instructor, TA or LA are available to answer questions outside of schduled class meeting times.
Pretty much anything related to the course, or about learning programmming in general. The instructional staff will not give you solutions outright, but will encourage you to think and reason out the solution yourself by asking pointed quiestions or by explaining concepts you might be stuck on.
No. You can get help on the homework assignments, but you can also get help on anything else course-related. We will help you with concepts and topics covered in the lessons, managing the time for the course, etc.
No. You may approach the instructor or any of the TA's or LA's for help.
All grading questions should be brought to the TA who graded that assignement or the instructor.
The Love Building, where most of these will eventually be held is currently under renovation. We will continually announce where the in-person Help Sessions will be on this page and through a course announcement. In the meantime, we will hold Help Sessions virtually.
To give simultaneos access to all the 3 lectures, we have created a SEPARATE Canvas Organization Site called "COP3014 Help Sessions". To access virtual Help Sessions you MUST Self-Enroll in that Canvas site, which you can do by clicking on this link
Once you have self-enrolled, you can click on the Zoom tab, which will show all the upcmoing Help Sessions
Some of us don't schedule the Help Sessions weeks in advance. The links will show up in time for the session, unless you get a Course Announcement saying the session has been moved, usually due to some emergent event.
This means the particular detail (usually the location of a TA/LA's office) is not available yet, due to renovations of the Love Building. The location will eventually show up. At that point, these will become IN-PERSON help sessions and the individual will no longer be online at the time. In the meantime, those help sessions will be virtual.
The TA's and LA's carry a full course load of their own classes. Most of those happended to be scheduled on MWF too, so they're available on T/TH for Help Sessions
That is NOT recommended. Outside sources are usually unverifed, and might lead you wrong. Or, they might be unaware of the assessments in this course or the couurse policy. Collaboration outside of the in-class exercises is NOT ALLOWED according to the syllabus.
