09/25/2019 - Sharanya's new Office Hours

Sharanya's office hours have been moved up by half an hour. The new office hours will be from 2:00 PM - 4:00 PM on Tuesdays and Thursdays, effective today (9/25/2019).

09/20/2019 - A note on the Quiz Grades

You should now be able to see an entry for Quizzes in your gradebook.

We will have at least 4 quizzes over the semester, and each of those is worth 25 points. So, right now, after last week's quiz, you are seeing the grade on 25, even if the gradebook says 100. This is because, as we have more quizzes, I'll just update this entry instead of having a separate entry for each quiz. Please don't panic when you see the 25/100 grade.

It is likely that we will have more than 4 quizzes. If we do, your grade will be the total of the 4 highest quiz grades. This allows folks to miss a couple of quizzes and still get the full 100.

09/19/2019 - For those still having CLion issues

Some of you are still having issues with your CLion setups, where the Toolchains are configured correctly, and the program compiles, but it crashes upon running.

If you are one of those students, please

1. Open CLion and try to run the program

2. Go to Help -> Show Log. This will open a folder with a file called "idea"

3. Attach that file to an email and send it to me.

I will contact Jetbrains (or you can do so yourself) and ask for instructions on how to fix it.

09/19/2019 - Test 1 on October 10, in class

The first test will be on Thursday, October 10, in class.

If you are eligible to, and would like to take the test at the SDRC, please register with them.

We will send out another announcement about a week before the test, with more details.

09/09/2019 - Recitations begin this week

We will start recitations this week. The recitations are the once-a-week review sessions.

All the recitations have been moved back to MCH (Carothers) 315 A. Your schedule should have changed to reflect this by now.

Please attend the recitation on your schedule. You cannot attend another one, due to fire marshal rules.

09/03/2019 - No Recitations for Week 2

We will not me meeting for recitations this week either.
We will be meeting for the main lecture though, so please make sure you attend those.

08/28/2019 - Looking for Notetakers

There is a student in our class who needs a copy of the class notes. Volunteers are eligible to earn ServScript hours.
If you have a 2.5 GPA, take accurate and legible notes, please see me at the end of the class tomorrow (Thursday, 8/29/2019).

08/25/2019- Welcome to COP 3014 - No Recitations this week

1. We will meet only for regular lecture (Tuesday and Thursday at 5:15 PM in WJB 2004) for this week. We will not meet for recitation (the classes that appear only once week, at various times and locations, on your schedule).
2. First day attendance is mandatory. Failure to attend will result in you being dropped from the class.
3. We will use Canvas only for sending out announcements, submitting homeworks, and posting grades. For everything else, please use the course website: www.cs.fsu.edu/~jayarama/prog1.php
