Faculty Recruitment | Department of Computer Science

The Department of Computer Science at the Florida State University invites applications for multiple faculty positions. These positions are full-time, benefits-eligible appointments with start dates in 2026. Applicants should hold a Doctoral degree from an accredited institution or the highest degree appropriate in the field of Computer Science or a closely related field at the time of appointment and have a demonstrated record of scholarly accomplishments appropriate to their rank.

The department currently has 31 tenure-track and 7 specialized faculty members and offers degrees at the BS, MS, and PhD levels. Our annual research expenditure has grown substantially in recent years and exceeded $5 million in the 2025 fiscal year. The department is an NSA/DHS Center of Academic Excellence in Cyber Defense Education (CAE/CDE) and Research (CAE-R). FSU is classified among R1: Doctoral Universities – Very High Research Activity and is ranked among the Top 20 national public universities. Its primary mission is to serve as a center for advanced graduate and professional studies while emphasizing research and providing excellence in undergraduate education.
