GitHub usernames for instructor and TA - 10/01/2018

Please add me and Tim to your project github repos. Our usernames are listed here:
Sharanya: jayarama
Tim: TimothyBarao

We prefer if you use Github. But if you plan to use bitbucket instead, that is ok. We don't have bitbucket accounts set up for the class though, so you might want to invite us through email.

Arthur Karapeteas will be handling the lectures this week - 09/24/2018

will be out of town this week (Tuesday-Saturday). However, lectures will proceed as usual.
Arthur Karapateas (who was the TA for the Summer term) will be handling the lectures this week. We will discuss OOP concepts and write a few classes in Python.
I will be available through email, but the turnaround time will be longer than usual. I will try my best to reply with 24 hours.

Midterm on October 18 - 09/20/2018

The Midterm will be on October 18, in class.

You only need to bring writing implements. The test is closed notes. No cheat sheets/electronic devices.

A study guide with sample questions will be posted about a week before the test.

A note on the Quiz grades - 09/12/2018

You should now be able to see an entry for Quizzes in your gradebook. We will have at least 5 quizzes over the semester, and each of those is worth 20 points. So, right now, after yesterday's quiz, you are seeing the grade on 20, even if the gradebook says 100. As we have more quizzes, I'll just update this entry instead of having a separate entry for each quiz. Please don't panic when you see the x/100 grade.

It is likely that we will have more than 5 quizzes (I'm planning 6 or 7). If we do, your grade will be the total of the 5 highest quiz grades. This allows folks to miss a couple of quizzes and still get the full 100. So, even if you missed yesterday's quiz, you're probably fine.

Office Hours on 9/12/2018 - 9/12/2018
