Teamwork Assessment Rubric

The ability of students to function effectively on teams will be assessed according to the following rubric. To pass the course, a rating of "Effective" or higher is expected.

  • Goals
Team members cooperate to effectively accomplish defined goals. Interaction of members results in successful accomplishment of goal. Cooperation among team members results in accomplishment of majority of goals. Significant portion of goals are not accomplished by team members working together.
  • Planning
Team members effectively plan and execute tasks. Members cooperate and communicate to timely update and revise plan. Planning lacks some detail or misses significant tasks. Occasional lack of updating and prompt revision due to lack of communication. Significant lack of detail in planning. Noticeable lack of interaction among team members in keeping plan updated
Allocation
  • Assignment
Tasks are assigned to individual team members in a fair and effective way. Some imbalance in assignment of tasks among team members. Significant imbalance in assignment of tasks.
  • Cooperation
Team members divide and share work in ways that allow for individuals to perform effectively. Individuals offer and accept assistance from teammates, as needed. Some lack of expected division or sharing of work. Significant lack of division or sharing of work in situations where such cooperation is rightfully expected.
