1. Are there any problems with course last year? If Yes, describe the problems.


In Fall 2017 it was brought to our attention that a few important items, while covered in the class, were not mentioned in the syllabus for the online offerings. That issue has been corrected effective on Summer 2018.

No special recommendation for this course as of now. The course runs just fine and we suggest the current/future instructors keep the current syllabus, materials and teaching philosophy in the future teaching for COP 4710.



We have adopted the textbook "Database Systems: The Complete Book, Second Edition" by Garcia-Molina, Ullman, and Widom, which is excellent and we should continue using it.
