R.C. Lacher (Chris Lacher) is Professor Emeritus of Computer Science at Florida State University. His research interests include generic programming/reusable software components, advanced technology engineering, machine learning, neural computation, macromolecular modeling, and computational and geometric topology. He has authored over 100 refereed articles and 3 books, given over 70 invited talks, and is a principal holder of two patents. He has served as Associate Editor of IEEE Transactions on Neural Networks, on the Editorial Board of Neurocomputing - An International Journal, and was a founding member of the International Journal of Computational Intelligence and Organizations.

Dr. Lacher's Kuratowski number is 1: K. Kuratowski and R.C. Lacher, A theorem on the space of monotone mappings, Bull. Pol. Acad. Sci. 12 (1969) 797--800.

Dr. Lacher's Erdos number is 3: Proof: Lacher <--> Kuratowski <--> [Tarski | Ulam] <--> Erdos.

From Fall 2003 through Summer 2019, Dr. Lacher was a resident faculty member in Computer Science at the Panama City, Florida, campus of FSU, with responsibilities in the rapidly growing undergraduate and graduate programs at that campus as well as in distance education. He is now retired.
