BIOSKETCH

Ladislav Kohout is Professor of Computer Science at the Florida State University in Tallahassee, where he is also the acting director of the FSU Institute for Cognitive Sciences. He is the US Editor of "Journal of Intelligent Systems", an Associate editor of the journal "Information Sciences" and a member of the Editorial Board of the "International Journal of General Systems". He is also a member of the Board of Directors of the Association for Intelligent Machinery.

    1991 -- Award for the paper "Multicontext Diagnostic in Knowledge-Based System CLINAID" presented at the 3rd International Symposium on Systems Research & Informatics in Baden Baden, Germany, August 1991. Jointly with J. Anderson, FRSM, FBCS (Kings College Medical School, University of London) and H. Kalantar.

    1988 -- Outstanding Scholarly Contribution Award by the Systems Research Foundation in recognition of "life long scholarly contribution to the development of system constructs and methodology of Activity Structures", August, 1988.
