Security and Courtesy for Root & Administrator Users
- Use only the IP numbers and names that has been assigned to
your team.
- Do not boot Linux or Windows NT (or any other operating
systems) from any other CS dept machines other than the ones that
has been assigned to you.
- Do not attempt to login with system user IDs on any CS dept
machine other than your assigned machines.
- Report any security holes (or potential security holes) to me
or the Systems group.
- Any unsanctioned security probes will be interpreted as
hostile actions and will dealt with appropriately.
- The Windows NT server materials are to remain in the Majors
lab. The Microsoft campus site license rules are arranged so that
the Windows NT server license only permits the installation of the
server software on machines located at FSU. By no means are you
allowed to take the media off-campus!
