Who am I?

Daniel Joseph Gomez, raised and studied abroad in many different countries. <- Click to find out where. I have had the pleasure of experiencing many cultural differences and have learned a lot first hand. As a result, I am fluent in both English and Spanish and have a basic understand of both German and Slovene! I believe every language offers a different perspective on the world. Simple phrases and expressions offer new perspectives. This broaden way of thinking has tremendously aided not only my programming skills but my ability to solve problems.

Growing up I have always been interested in fixing everything I could lay my hands on. In particular, taking apart an apparatus, figuring out how it worked, and then putting it back together. This interest has allowed me to view everything in life as an enigma just waiting to be unravelled. It is no mystery that I am where I am today; studying Computer Science.

Taking Computer Sciences classes was interesting, however, it wasn't until I took Data Structures that I realized, "This is where you belong". Every class thereafter was no longer just interesting, yet they were information hubs from which I tried my best to soak up as much information as possible from. I soon started to realize, the more I learnt, the more I realized I did not know, but this only made me strive for more. Although I wish I could study most all areas of computer science, my two areas of interests are Database Management and Computer Networks.

Aside from academics, I enjoy playing Soccer. The is nothing like getting out and kicking a ball around with my friends.
