Ctadel: Introduction

Ctadel was developed as a Problem-Solving Environment for generating efficient numerical codes for meteorological models.

Design issues:

Automatic differentation and discretization of model PDEs into numerical schemes
Symbolic manipulation through pattern matching and rewrite rules
Attribute grammars for code generation
Restructuring compiler optimizations
Parallel and vector code generation (Fortran 77 and 90)
Report generation (LATEX, HTML, and XML)
