The system is now able to play pinball autonomously, tracking the ball with the coordinate averaging algorithm using the lowest resolution ( zoom factor 8, 64x60). The period of the frame grabber dominates all other timing factors, so it could not be done with higher resolution and a more accurate algorithm. The use of advanced real-time techniques was planned, but we don't have enough execution time to do any more complicated processing.
