Learning objectives

After this class, you should be able to:

  1. Explain the paradoxes mentioned in the book, with regard to infinite positive sums adding to a negative number, and the same sum adding to different numbers, depending on how the grouping is done.
  2. Define an absolutely convergent sum.
  3. Determine if a sum is absolutely convergent.
  4. Identify properties that absolutely convergent sums satisfy.
