AMD Donates 32-core shared memory machineMay 26, 2009
Advanced Micro Devices has donated hardware for a 32-core shared memory machine hosted by the CS Department for doing research in parallel computation and geometric optimization. Both AMD engineers as well FSU researchers are currently using the machine for various research projects. The machine has 8 quad core Shanghai CPUs with 128GB of RAM, 128GB of Intel SSD storage, and more than 6TB of hard drive space. The machine was assembled by Colfax International.
