All abstracts and papers should be submitted electronically at the following website: the submission website

Manuscripts in the following categories will be considered for publication in the ACM Proceedings of the 8th International Workshop on Data Engineering for Wireless and Mobile Access:

* Regular papers (max. 8 pages): The submission should describe significant theoretical and/or experimental contributions to the area of data management for mobile and wireless access.

* Demo papers (max. 4 pages): The submission should describe the architecture, implementation and usage of innovative tools or systems that fit the context of the workshop. The presentation of demo papers will be conducted in a designated session during the workshop (in the form of short presentations).

* Panel proposals (max. 2 pages): The submission should include the panel objectives and the panel organization (names, addresses and background of potential panelists).

All of the submissions should be in PDF format and conform to the ACM proceedings format (double-columned pages in 9pt font). The ACM formatting guidelines are located here (see Option 2: Alternate Style). The format of your submission must be for US Letter printing (8.5 by 11 inches). Note that A4 is not equivalent to US Letter. Submitted papers must not have been published or currently be under consideration for publication at another venue.

All of the submissions will be handled electronically. Each paper will be reviewed by at least three members of the program committee. Detailed submission information will be posted on the website of the workshop.

The workshop proceedings will be published by ACM. Electronic versions of the papers will be included in the ACM DL, DiSC'09 and DBLP.

For every paper submission, authors must submit an abstract by Wednesday, April 15th, 2009 (11:59:59pm Eastern Standard Time - EST), and the full paper by Wednesday, April 15th, 2009 (11:59:59pm Eastern Standard Time - EST).

Abstracts should be in plain text (max. 200 words) and should be accompanied by a set of keywords. Full papers must be in PDF form.

Papers that do not adhere to the formatting requirements, including over-length papers, may be rejected without review. Duplicate submissions are not allowed.

Duplicate Submission Policy
A submission is considered a duplicate submission if, at any time during the time when the submission is under consideration, another paper exists with the following properties:

  1. the paper and the MobiDE submission have at least one author in common;
  2. the paper is more than 3 pages long, when formatted in the MobiDE format;
  3. the main technical content of the paper substantially overlaps that of the MobiDE submission; and
  4. the paper is published or under consideration for publication in a refereed journal or proceedings (electronic or printed) that is generally available (e.g., not limited to conference attendees).
