This is the eighth of a successful series of workshops that aims to act as a bridge between the data management, wireless networking, and mobile computing communities.

The 1st MobiDE workshop took place in Seattle (August 1999), in conjunction with MobiCom 1999; the 2nd MobiDE workshop took place in Santa Barbara (May 2001), together with SIGMOD 2001; the 3rd MobiDE workshop took place in San Diego (September 2003), together with MobiCom 2003; the 4th MobiDE workshop took place in Baltimore (June 2005), together with SIGMOD 2005. The 5th MobiDE workshop took place in Chicago (June 2006) together with SIGMOD 2006, the 6th MobiDE workshop took place in Beijing, China (June 2007) together with SIGMOD 2007. Last year's event (the 7th MobiDE workshop) took place in Vancouver, Canada together with SIGMOD 2008. Since 2005, the event is collocated with SIGMOD. This year's event marks the 10-year anniversary of the workshop.

This year MobiDE 2009 is sponsored by ACM SIGMOD and held in cooperation with ACM SIGMOBILE (pending approval). Additionally, it is sponsored by EU's Network of Excellence on Cooperating Objects.

Announcements and Latest News
   (June 19th) The map for the conference venue is now available. The workshop will take place in room "555B".
   (June 17th) The panel information is now available.
   (June 8th) Preliminary program has been announced.
   (May 29th) Please register at the SIGMOD'09 registration site, and select the MobiDE workshop.
   (May 28th) The accepted papers and demos are listed here. The final program will be announced soon.
   (May 28th) The second keynote speaker is Dr. Frank Olken, program director of NSF for the IIS division. His speech title is: Space, Time, Sensors, and Data Semantics.
   (May 13th) The keynote speaker is Matt Welsh from Harvard University. The title of the talk is: A New Era of Resource Responsibility for Sensor Networks.
   (April 22nd) The new date for acceptance notification is now May 22nd.
   (March 31th) The new deadline for paper submission is now April 15th.
   (March 18th) The deadline has been extended for a week!
   (March 10th) MobiDE'09 submission site is open!
   (Dec. 20th) First MobiDE'09 Call for Papers
   (Dec. 20th) MobiDE'09 Web Site is up!
