Using Entry Buttons

The entry buttons on the top-right side of the queue perform operations on the selected entries. The following figure labels these buttons for the Error Queue.

Go to Source

Shows and highlights the block that generated the error in the queue.

Delete Entry

Deletes every selected entry that has also been acknowledged. NOL shows a dialog asking you to confirm the deletion.

Send Entry

This button is not relevant in NOL.

View Entry

Displays the full contents of an entry in a dialog. The dialog contains buttons that also let you see the entry's history and comments:

This table describes each of the buttons on the left of the dialog:

This button... Does this...
Hide
Closes the dialog and returns to the queue.
Backward
Displays the previous page of text. If there is a previous page, the button's background is lighter than the rest of the dialog.
Forward
Displays the next page of text. If there is a next page, the button's background is lighter than the rest of the dialog.
Text
Displays the full contents of an entry. This button is selected when you first bring up the dialog.
History
Displays the history for the entry.
Comments
Displays the comments for the entry, which you can edit with the Comment Entry button, described below.

Comment Entry

Adds comments to an entry. NOL displays this Comment Entry Dialog:

To add a comment:

  1. Click on the comment area to start editing.

  2. Enter the comment.

  3. When you reach the bottom of the comment area, press the Add button. NOL adds the comment so far and clears the comment area for a new comment.

  4. When you are done, press the OK button.

If you do not want to enter the current comment, press the Cancel button.

Note: NOL does not let you edit comments you have already added; you can only add new comments.
To view your comments, use the View Entry button, described above.

Save to File

Adds the selected entries to a log file. Selecting this button displays the File Dialog:

Enter the directory name and the file name. By default, NOL saves the log in the file sample1.log. The Append to Existing File option determines what happens if the specified filename already exists. If you select this option, NOL appends the new entries to the log file. If you do not select this option, NOL overwrites the existing log file.

To save the entries, press the OK button. If you do not want to save the entries, press the Cancel button.

Print Entry

Prints the complete contents of the selected entries. NOL brings up the Print dialog for specifying how to print. The Print Queue button also uses this dialog. See "Print Queue".

This table describes the fields in a Print dialog:

This field Specifies...
Copies
The number of copies to print.
Delete File after Print
Whether to delete the print file after it has printed.
Scale to Fit Page
Whether NOL automatically scales the queue subworkspace to fit on one printed page. If you do not select this option, you must enter a value for Scale.
Scale
The print scale, measured in pixels per inch. For example, the default value of 100 means that an object 300 pixels wide is 3 inches wide when printed. If you select the Scale to Fit Page option, NOL ignores this value.
Color Conversion
How to print colors on a black and white printer. If Grays is selected, NOL reproduces colors using different shades of gray. If Black and White is selected, NOL prints everything that is not black as white.
Paper Orientation
Whether to print in portrait or landscape mode.
Printer Name
The name of the printer.
Print Directory
The directory in which to create the print file.
Print Filename Template
The format of the print filename. The filename can contain a wildcard ("*"), which NOL replaces with a time and date stamp.
Print Command Line
The command line that spools the print file on the printer. The command line accepts these special fields in square brackets [ ]:

To print the workspace, press the OK button. To cancel the print job, press the Cancel button.
