graphics

Specifies the percentage of Windows 95 system resources that must remain available to other applications while G2 is running.

Platforms

Windows 95 only.

Syntax

free-system-resources-percentage: An integer that specifies the percentage of Windows 95 system resources that must remain available while G2 is running.

Equivalent Environment Variable

None

Description

After you start G2 under Windows 95, your G2 might require more Windows 95 system resources than were initially allocated. In addition, because Windows 95 has only a finite amount of system resources available, G2 regularly checks how much of those resources are available.

Use the -graphics command line option to prevent G2 from requesting additional system resources from Windows 95, when only a specified percentage of total system resources are actually available.

Special Considerations

If G2 requires more system resources than Windows 95 can supply without exceeding the limit specified in the -graphics option, G2 uses its own disk cache to manage the graphics shown in its window. When G2 must behave in this way, its performance can be slower when updates the display of its window.

Example

This command starts G2 under Windows 95 and specifies that G2 must not request Windows 95 system resources when there is 15% or less of total Window 95 system resources available:
