Using G2 End User Displays and Components

G2 supports the following types of end user displays and components:

Type Description
Action button
Performs one or more actions when the user clicks the button
Radio button
Assigns one of a mutually exclusive set of symbols, numbers, logical values, or text values to a variable or parameter
Check box
Assigns an on or off value to a symbolic, quantitative, logical, or text-value variable or parameter
Slider
Assigns numeric values to a variable or parameter as a user slides a pointer along a horizontal guide
Type-in box
Allows you to enter any type of value for a variable or parameter
User menu choice
Performs an action when the user chooses the menu selection for a particular instance of a class
External images
Displays a bitmap or other graphical image created outside G2, which you can use as the background image for a workspace or as part of an icon
Readout table
Shows a variable, parameter, or expression and its value
Dial and meter
Represents an arithmetic value graphically by using a needle on a dial or a vertical bar on a meter
Freeform tables
Displays tabular data
Chart
Plots numerical data
Trend chart
Plots time series or historical data over a designated period of time
