Effects of Attributes Displays and Tables

This test compares the results of concluding an attribute of an object when the object is visible and hidden, and when various displays are visible and exist on a hidden workspace.

Visibility Microseconds
object not on workspace
36.1
object on workspace
37.4
object on workspace, with one attribute display
281.4
object on workspace, with table
297.5
object on workspace, with one attribute display, workspace hidden
257.4
object on workspace, with table, workspace hidden
279.4

The difference when an object is on a workspace as opposed to not on a workspace is negligible. However, concluding a value when an object is on a workspace when a single attribute display or a table showing is approximately eight times slower than when the displays are not showing. Furthermore, even if the displays exist but are on a hidden workspace, you experience the same performance penalty.

Thus, you should always hide tables and attribute displays for maximum efficiency when you deliver your application.
