NSTISSC 4011 INFOSEC Professionals Certificate
In April 2000, the National Security Telecommunications and Information Systems Security (NSTISSC) announced the designation of Florida State University as meeting the NISTISSC training standards under the Information Assurance Courseware Evaluation (IACE) process. The IACE assesses the degree to which curriculums prepare their students to be security specialists as determined by a formal, rigorous training standard. FSU is certified to train specialists under the NSTISSI standard 4011 for "Information Security Professionals".
By achieving this designation, FSU students that complete the courses specified in the program are recognized as having been trained to serve as information security professionals and receive a certificate that says the student "has satisfactorily completed an educational program certified by NSTISSC as compliant with NSTISSI No. 4011 for Information Systems Security (INFOSEC) Professionals". This certificate is available to degree-seeking and special students that complete the core courses and their prerequisites.
The core courses and prerequisites (denoted by *) for this certificate program are:
- CEN 5515 Data and Computer Communications
- CEN 5540 Computer Security (previously CGS 5891, CIS 5358)
