Vassilis Athitsos received the BS degree in mathematics from the
University of Chicago in 1995 and the MS degree in computer science from the
University of Chicago in 1997.  He is currently a PhD candidate in the Computer
Science Department at Boston University, working on hand pose estimation,
gesture recognition, and indexing methods for non-Euclidean spaces. His research
interests include computer vision, machine learning, image and video
databases, and human-computer interfaces.
