The following specific prerequisites are required for admission into this upper-division degree program and must be completed by the student at either a community college or a state university prior to being formally admitted as a major:
Students may be admitted into the University without completing these prerequisites, but may not be admitted to the major until they are completed.
The undergraduate program in computer and information sciences is limited access. Students must achieve at least a 2.65 GPA in all college work attempted and have completed the State of Florida Common Course Prerequisite (MAC X311) with the grade of "C-" in order to be considered for entrance. Upon entrance into the program, the student must maintain a 2.5 GPA to remain in good standing in the major.
A student who has accumulated more than five grades below "C-" (including grades of "U") in mathematics, statistics, science, or computer science courses taken for college credit at The Florida State University or elsewhere, whether repeated or not, will not be permitted to continue as a major in the department.
